Original German WWII Framed Portrait Photo Of Heer Officer
An original WWII-era framed portrait photograph depicting a German Heer officer, presented in a period black-painted wooden frame measuring approximately 12.5" x 10". The image is a classic studio-style black and white portrait, capturing a sharp and well defined likeness.
The officer is identified as a Leutnant based on his collar tabs and shoulder boards. Notably, he is wearing a converted EM/NCO combat wool tunic upgraded for officer use, a practice commonly encountered during the war due to supply shortages. The tunic retains its enlisted-style construction while displaying officer insignia, adding both character and authenticity. A Heer breast eagle is visible on the chest, and he wears a standard officer’s visor cap with eagle and cockade.
The photograph is housed in its original black-painted wooden frame with period matting. The mat shows a visible stain in the lower left corner, along with general age toning consistent with long-term display. The frame itself exhibits honest handling wear, while the reverse retains its original backing and mounting hardware.
