Original German WWII Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD) Regimental Standarte
Original German WWII Reichsarbeitsdienst (Reich Labor Service) regimental standarte, measures approximately 135 cm × 127 cm (53" × 50"), including the fringe. This example features detailed multi-piece construction, with a vibrant red field and a large black swastika outlined in light gray tresse on both sides
The central white roundel features the RAD spade and wheat emblem, with raised embroidered details. A black circular border surrounds the emblem and is decorated with heavily embroidered white wheat motifs. The separately applied fabric sections and contrasting embroidery give the design considerable depth.
Silver metal fringe borders three sides, with the mounting edge left unfringed. The fringe remains well preserved overall. No mounting rings or unit corner patch are present, and there are some loose threads along the mounting edge.
There is minor staining on both sides, including discoloration to the white roundels and trim, as well as darker stains near the mounting corner and portions of the outer edge. One side has scattered small holes in the red fabric, including areas near the central emblem and edges. There is also some localized wear to the embroidered details.
Despite these flaws, the colors remain strong, and the standarte retains much of its detailed embroidery. Overall, it remains in very good condition and displays well.
