Original German WWII Small Mine Warning Flag (Skull & Crossbones)

This is an original German WWII mine warning flag, used by German forces to mark minefields, booby-trapped areas, or unexploded ordnance zones during the Second World War. These small warning flags were intended for temporary field use, alerting friendly troops and units to hazardous areas.

The flag is constructed of yellow cotton cloth in a triangular pennant form, featuring a black skull and crossbones (Totenkopf) motif screen-printed on the front and back. This universally recognized danger symbol was employed by German military engineers (Pioniere) and other units responsible for mine deployment and area denial.

The edges are machine-sewn and folded, with reinforced stitching along the perimeter for strength. The flag was designed to be attached to a short stick, wire, or stake for ground placement.

Condition shows minor use, including light staining, age toning, and minor edge wear.

An original example of German WWII minefield marking equipment, highly desirable to collectors of combat engineering, battlefield signaling, and WWII field gear in excellent condition.
