Rare Original Japanese Type 30 Arisaka Bayonet With Rubberized Scabbard & Integrated Frog

This is an original Japanese Type 30 Arisaka rifle bayonet, complete with its matching *rubberized canvas-covered scabbard and integrated rubberized frog*. The Type 30 bayonet was the standard bayonet of the Imperial Japanese Army and saw extensive service from the Russo-Japanese War through WWII.

Blade:
The blade is a traditional Type 30 pattern featuring a single fuller and hooked Quillon configuration. It retains much of its original finish with scattered age toning, light oxidation, and honest service wear throughout. The blade has not been factory blued. A visible "rocking star" manufacturer mark is present on the ricasso, proving production by the Toyokawa Kosho Naval Arsenal.

Handle and Cross Guard:
The steel components show light wear to the bluing but remain in excellent condition overall. The hooked quillon cross guard is intact. The wooden grips remain solid and nicely preserved. Due to age they have darkened over time. A visible "kanji" (logographic) has been branded on one side. We were unable to translate the symbols. The other side of the grip has a "53" stamped, we are unsure of its significance.

Scabbard / Frog:
The bayonet is housed in its original scabbard, fitted with a desirable rubberized canvas cover and integrated leather frog with both belt loops intact. The scabbard and frog exhibit expected age-related wear, creasing, and minor cracking consistent with long-term use and storage. Faint ink-stamped or painted symbols remain visible on the front of the frog; however, their meaning and significance are unknown. One of the frog rivets appears to have been improperly set during manufacture, a factory flaw that has remained untouched since production. Despite these minor imperfections, the scabbard and frog remain complete, solid, and display very well.

Overall this is in very good, solid condition.
