Original German WWII Political Leader Collar Tab Rank Of Arbeitsleiter
This is an original German WWII NSDAP Political Leader collar tab for the rank of Arbeitsleiter. Political Leader collar tabs denoted both rank and organizational position within the Nazi Party hierarchy and were worn on the brown service tunic. The distinctive light blue piping identifies this example as belonging to the Organization Office (Organisationsamt).
The collar tab is constructed on the correct brown velvet backing with light blue edge piping. The reverse retains its original RZM paper tag, although it shows expected wear and is partially torn from age. The tab also retains its original buckram stiffener, further supporting its authenticity.
Please note that the gilt political leader eagle is detached, as the three attachment pins on the reverse have broken off. In addition, the single gilt rank pip is missing. These are common issues encountered with political leader insignia after decades of age and storage. The collar tab could be professionally restored by installing an original period eagle and matching gilt rank pip, returning it to its original appearance.
Despite these shortcomings, the tab remains an original wartime example with an intact backing, piping, and RZM label, making it an excellent candidate for restoration or a quality filler piece for an advanced NSDAP insignia collection.
