Original German Pre-WWII “Junge Gefolgschaft” H-Jugend Songbook With NSDAP/HJ Unit Stamps 1936
This is an original Third Reich-era Junge Gefolgschaft – Neue Lieder der H-Jugend (“Young Following – New Songs of the H- Youth”) songbook. This is the Third Series, published in 1936 by Georg Kallmeyer Verlag of Wolfenbüttel and Berlin.
The booklet was issued by the Cultural Office of the Reich Youth Leadership and contains H- Youth marching and group songs accompanied by musical notation. According to the publisher’s information, the songs were developed for musical activities conducted during a 1936 summer camp of the Reich Youth Leadership’s Broadcasting and Cultural Office in Heidelberg. The distinctive front cover features a bugle and Hitler Youth flags and is credited to W. Menning.
Most notably, the inside front cover and title page each bear a blue organizational ink stamp reading:
NSDAP
H-Jugend
Gefolgschaft 22/189
Brakel, Kreis Höxter
These matching period unit stamps indicate that the booklet was once the property of a specific H- Youth formation and add considerably to its historical character.
The paper cover shows minor age toning, scattered staining, and normal edge and handling wear. The binding remains intact, and the interior pages are clean and well preserved. Overall, the booklet remains in very good to excellent condition considering its age.
