Original U.S. WWI Squad Leader or General Purpose Pouch by N.B. CO. 1918
This is an original WWI squad leader pouch or also known as a general purpose pouch. These pouches were issued to squad leaders, assistant squad leaders, and other personnel for carrying small tools, spare ammunition, or general field necessities. The interior compartment is unlined. Constructed of heavy khaki canvas, it features a “U.S.” stencil on the front flap, two Lift-the-Dot fasteners, and an M1910 wire hanger on the back for belt attachment. The interior is clearly marked "N.B. CO. 7-18."
The example shown shows some staining throughout and a few holes from rust. The inside shows some discoloration, too. The fasteners do have some slight oxidation. Overall still in good condition.
