The Zeltbahn was a versatile piece of field equipment designed to serve as an individual rain cape, camouflage covering, or shelter quarter. Multiple Zeltbahnen could be buttoned together to construct larger field shelters.
This is a nice example of a mid to late war Waffen SS Zeltbahn, featuring the reversible Oakleaf A camouflage pattern with spring/summer on one side and fall/winter on the reverse.
The camouflage colors are faded on both sides yet appropriately muted. All original grommets, both large and small, are present and intact. The original ropes and approximately 8 of the original dish style buttons are missing. There are some very tiny holes throughout. There are some visible repairs throughout nicely done with original planetree camouflage.
Condition overall remains very good.
