Original German WWII Luftwaffe M40 Single Decal Helmet Q66- This original German WWII Luftwaffe M40 Single Decal Helmet, produced by Q (Quist), sized 66, emerges as a compelling find from a recent discovery in a New England barn. Bearing the marks of its wartime service, it exhibits minor rust spots on the exterior of the Luftwaffe blue textured paint, testament to its storied past.

Remarkably, the 2nd model Luftwaffe decal remains approximately 95% intact, with only minor chips, echoing the passage of years and the helmet's journey through history.

Internally, the helmet features a leather liner marked size 59, exhibiting slight dryness and a faint barn smell, along with a few small holes from rodent activity. While a touch of leather conditioner could enhance suppleness and mitigate the minor odor, it retains its structural integrity and allure. Additionally, the original drawstring, though slightly dry from years in the barn, complements the authenticity of this discovery.

Regrettably, the leather chinstrap is missing, yet this does little to detract from the appeal of this combat-worn M40 Luftwaffe helmet, fresh from its newfound hiding place and never been in someones collection. Presented in very good to excellent condition, it offers a captivating addition to any WWII collection, proudly displaying its history for all to see.
