Original Waffen SS EM/NCO's Belt Buckle By Overhoff & Cie With Original Leather Combat Belt- Presented
is an original Waffen SS EM/NCO's Belt Buckle, emblematic of war-time
production by the esteemed manufacturer Overhoff & Cie, a prominent
supplier of SS belt buckles throughout the Third Reich era. This
unmarked buckle, representative of typical war-time craftsmanship,
features a smooth outer field housing a central motif of remarkable
detail: an SS-style national eagle, its wings elegantly outstretched,
grasping a laurel wreath enveloping a static swastika. Encircled by a
circular twisted rope border adorned with the Gothic script motto,
"Meine Ehre heißt Treue!" (My Honor is Loyalty!), this emblem exudes
historical significance.
While approximately 65% of the original
silver paint remains on the exterior, lending it a weathered appearance
evocative of its combat history, an impressive 85% of the original paint
adorns the back. The backside, mirroring the front, bears witness to
wear marks from the combat belt, which have gently worn away some paint
with some minor rust areas. Despite its battle-worn appearance, the
details of this buckle remain crisp, accentuating its authenticity and
historical resonance.
Offered is a combat leather belt,
indicative of wartime usage, yet remarkably preserved in excellent
condition. While exhibiting signs of use, such as two added holes at the buckle tongue, the belt remains fully intact and
functional, securely holding its position. The steel hook, painted in a
field gray hue, adds to its authentic appearance.
This belt is
sized marked 100cm and bears manufacturers marking and dated 1942 serving as a subtle yet significant reminder of its historical context. Also someones initials "BK" inscribed into the inside of the belt.
Overall,
this combat leather belt embodies the resilience and durability
demanded by its wartime service, offering a tangible link to the past
and a poignant testament to the valor of those who wore it.
In
very good condition, this Waffen SS belt & buckle stands as a
tangible relic of a pivotal era in history, capturing the essence of
craftsmanship and valor amidst the tumult of war.
