EXTERIOR:
The shell retains a good portion of its original Luftwaffe blue-gray textured factory finish, now showing moderate to heavy age wear, surface oxidation, and patina consistent with field use. The finish has thinned in areas, with scattered surface rust and wear to the high points, giving the helmet a well-used but attractive combat-worn appearance.
The Luftwaffe eagle decal remains partially intact, showing visible wear and flaking, but still clearly identifiable. Its condition is consistent with the overall age and service wear of the helmet.
All three original split pins are present and undisturbed, showing matching age and patina.
INTERIOR:
The interior retains its original paint with visible factory stamping, including the ET64 size mark. The interior surface shows expected wear and oxidation from age and use.
LINER:
The original leather liner is present and remains generally supple. However, the liner fingers show noticeable cracking and wear from age. The liner is complete but should be handled with care. The drawstring is present but is a later replacement.
CHINSTRAP:
The chinstrap is no longer present.
