Original German Pre-War Heer (Army) Junior NCO Shoulder Boards (Matched Pair)
This is an original matching pair of pre-war German Army (Heer) shoulder boards for a Junior Non-Commissioned Officer (Unteroffizier), intended for wear on the early M36 pattern field tunic.
The boards are constructed of dark bottle-green wool with silver flat-wire NCO Tresse machine-sewn around the perimeter, signifying the first NCO grade above enlisted ranks. Each have a inked unit designation number “21” on the underside of the tongue. Each features the standard buttonhole slit for attachment.
Both boards remain in excellent condition, showing only light age toning to the silver Tresse and minor handling wear from age. The wool retains its full nap and rich pre-war color, with no moth damage, tears, or repairs noted.
