Offered here is a attractive 1-Liter German Pre-WWII Air Force Commemorative beer stein "Uffz.-Korps der Stabskomp./I./Kampfgeschw. Hindenburg 152."
The top inscription reads "Uffz.-Korps der Stabskomp./I./Kampfgeschw. Hindenburg 152." which basically translates to "NCO Corps of the Staff Company / I. Group / Bomber Wing Hindenburg 152". The bottom inscription reads "Erinnerung an die Dienstzeit" which translates to "In Memory of the Service". This is common on farewell / retirement gifts. The inscription along the lower side,"Uffz. Hinderer" identifies an Unteroffizier (Non Commissioned Officer) associated with the stein.
Kampfgeschwader 152 "Hindenburg" was an early Luftwaffe bomber unit named in honor of German Field Marshal and President Paul von Hindenburg. The formation belonged to the period of German military expansion and reorganization during the 1930s.
The stein is constructed of glazed ceramic with a traditional metal lid. The thumb lift and hinge assembly remain intact. The ceramic body has an embossed 1-liter capacity marking near the handle. The inside is clean with slight discoloration.
The exterior retains its attractive original appearance, with the military artwork and inscriptions remaining bright and defined. There is fine age related crazing throughout the ceramic glaze, along with minor surface wear and discoloration consistent with age.
Condition overall is Very Good to Excellent. Refer to photos for more details and actual condition.
