Original German WWII Luftwaffe Steel Belt Buckle Unmarked
This is an original Luftwaffe steel belt buckle. It is constructed of stamped steel and features the Luftwaffe eagle, centered within an oval oak-leaf wreath. The pebble-textured background behind the eagle is still nicely visible. The strike remains well defined, with clear detail to the eagle, feathers, and wreath elements.
A large portion of the original fieldgray finish remains, with scattered areas of surface wear and oxidation revealing a pleasing, honest patina. The worn areas exhibit a mix of darkened steel and light surface rust consistent with age and field use, giving the buckle strong character. The reverse retains its original catch, bar, and prong configuration, all intact and functional. The hardware shows expected wear and oxidation, but remains solid. This example is unmarked, which is not uncommon for wartime production.
Overall, in very good condition.
