Original German WWII / Pre-WWII Political Tinnie Badge Grouping (4 Pieces)
A "tinnie" is a small, inexpensive badge or pin produced in large quantities by the NSDAP (1933-1945) to commemorate a wide variety of events, rallies, and fundraising efforts. Despite the name "tinnie," they were made from various materials including metal (aluminum, tin), plastic, glass, wood, or even pressed leather. There are estimated to be over 8,000 different designs of WHW items, ranging from regional crests to fairy tale characters.
The grouping includes:
AH 1938 Election Donation Tinnie. A portrait stickpin badge featuring a left-facing profile of A-Hitler with surrounding text reading “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer” (“One People, One Reich, One Leader”). The badge retains its original long stickpin attachment and attractive period patina.
“1 Mai 1936” Labor Day Tinnie. This example commemorates the National Labor Day celebrations of May 1st, 1936, reflecting the emphasis on unity between labor and the state. Reverse is maker marked. In very good to excellent condition.
“Mit Adolf Hitler Gegen Hungerkälte 1935” (With A-Hitler Against Hunger and Cold) tinnie. This is connected to the Winter Relief campaigns during 1935. The reverse retains its original pinback. In very good to excellent condition.
“Deutsch Ist Die Saar 1934” themed tinnie. The design symbolizes themes of unity, nationalism, and political solidarity promoted during the early Pre-WWII period. Original pinback attachment remains intact on the reverse. In very good to excellent condition.
