Original German WWII / Pre-WWII Wehrmacht WHW & WHW Tinnie Badge Grouping (3 Pieces)A "tinnie" is a small, inexpensive badge or pin produced in large quantities by the NSDAP (1933-1945) to commemorate a wide variety of events, rallies, and fundraising efforts. Despite the name "tinnie," they were made from various materials including metal (aluminum, tin), plastic, glass, wood, or even pressed leather. There are estimated to be over 8,000 different designs of WHW items, ranging from regional crests to fairy tale characters.
The grouping includes:“Tag der Wehrmacht für das WHW 1938-39” (Day of the Wehrmacht for the Winter Relief Organization). The reverse retains its original vertical pinback attachment. Some oxidation and age spotting are present to the reverse, consistent with age.
“Standort Kassel WHW 1938-39” tinnie. The detailed portrait style design reflects the patriotic and military themes promoted during the pre-war period. Reverse retains its original vertical pinback setup.
“Wir kämpften gegen Hunger und Kälte 1933–34” (“We fought against hunger and cold 1933–34”). This example commemorates the early Winter Relief fundraising campaigns established shortly after the NSDAP came to power. Original horizontal pinback remains intact on the reverse.
All 3 are in very good to excellent condition, considering age.
