Original German WWII HJ Aluminum Belt Buckle -- RZM M4/44 Paul Cramer
This is an original H- Youth (H- jugend-HJ) aluminum belt buckle, manufactured by Paul Cramer & Co., Lüdenscheid, and properly RZM marked M4/44 on the reverse. The H- Youth was the official youth organization of National Socialist Germany, created to indoctrinate young people with regime ideology and prepare them for future service. Membership became mandatory for most German youths by the late 1930s.
The buckle is constructed of stamped aluminum and features the standard HJ diamond emblem with swastika suspended beneath a stylized eagle, all enclosed within a rope-bordered circular wreath. The strike is crisp, and all design details remain well defined.
The RZM marking “M4/44” is clearly visible, positively identifying Paul Cramer & Co. as the manufacturer. The hardware remains solid and functional. The buckle shows honest age, light oxidation, and surface wear consistent with period use, with no cracks or structural damage noted. Overall, this buckle remains in very good condition.
