Original Imperial German WWI “Hate Belt” with Buckle, Buttons & Insignia
Authentic Imperial German World War I souvenir “hate belt” constructed from a period brown leather waist belt adorned with various wartime-acquired insignia and buttons. These belts were commonly assembled by Allied soldiers using captured German fittings as personal souvenirs of service.
This belt is crafted from brown leather and features a brass military-type catch. Most of the buttons are from German uniforms, some are missing, but notably, some display U.S. buttons and insignia. The presence of slight rust and corrosion on the buttons and insignia adds to the authenticity and historical charm of this unique and desirable item. The belt is marked a size 90. The Imperial German buckle is a two piece brass type.
