This is a authentic German WWII Luftwaffe enlisted/NCO aluminum belt buckle (2nd pattern) complete with its original leather tab. The obverse features the classic Luftwaffe eagle in flight surrounded by an oak leaf wreath on a pebbled field. While the pebbling is somewhat subdued from wear, the buckle retains overall eye appeal with details to the eagle and wreath.
The reverse side is maker-marked "Ad.B.L." and "39," identifying the manufacturer as A.D. Baumeister of Lüdenscheid and dating the piece to 1939. The accompanying matching leather tab bears the markings "A.D. Baumeister 1939 Lüdenscheid" and is stamped "L.B.A." (Luftwaffe property issue). The tab has been rethreaded with what appears to be period-correct cotton leather thread.
In good condition, this buckle typically commands a value of $350 to $400 due to its rarity and desirable maker. Given its good overall condition, it remains a highly collectible piece.
