This is an original early-production SA (Sturmabteilung) dagger, manufactured by the desirable Solingen maker, Gebrüder Heller.
Blade: The blade is in very good condition, retaining a strong and clearly visible motto, “Alles für Deutschland” (“Everything for Germany”). The blade surface shows light age, scattered spotting, and minor oxidation, but remains bright overall with visible crossgrain. The reverse is clearly marked with the maker stamp “GEBR. HELLER.”
Grip & Fittings: The wooden grip displays a pleasing reddish-brown tone with attractive natural grain. It retains the correctly inset SA roundel at the top and a well-detailed nickel eagle at the center. Both insignia are tight and show appropriate age. The grip shows light handling wear, but remains free of cracks or major damage.
The fittings are solid nickel, typical of early production, and exhibit a nice, even patina throughout. The crossguards remain well-defined with only minor wear from handling, and the pommel nut appears undisturbed.
Scabbard: The scabbard is the early anodized type, showing honest period wear with oxidation, scratches, and areas of finish loss throughout. The fittings retain a consistent patina and remain securely attached. The hanger ring is intact. Please note, the ball on the tip shows a visible dent.
Hanger: Not included.
Condition: Overall, this dagger is in very good, honest condition with typical signs of age and service. The blade remains strong with a clear motto and visible crossgrain, while the grip and fittings retain excellent integrity and appeal. The scabbard shows expected wear for an anodized example, including finish loss and the noted dent to the tip. A solid, untouched early SA dagger by a desirable maker, presenting well and ideal for display.
