Original German WWII Luftwaffe M40 Single Decal Helmet SE64
An original German WWII Luftwaffe Model 1940 single decal combat helmet manufactured by Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke (SE) in size 64. This helmet retains its original Luftwaffe blue-gray heavily textured factory finish and displays an attractive untouched wartime appearance throughout.
EXTERIOR
The shell retains a strong amount of its original Luftwaffe blue-gray heavily textured factory finish with honest wartime wear and age throughout. The original Luftwaffe eagle decal remains very well preserved with strong detail and only minor wear and flaking from age. All three original split pins remain present, with two tight and one slightly loose, retaining most of their original factory paint. The helmet displays an attractive untouched combat-used appearance with scattered scratches, light patina, and field wear consistent with service use.
INTERIOR
The interior retains its original liner band, leather liner, and chinstrap. The leather liner remains complete overall with one liner finger torn but still retained by the original drawstring. The leather shows expected age wear and some dryness from wartime age and storage. The original Luftwaffe brown leather chinstrap remains attached, has naturally darkened over time, and appears to have been shortened slightly during its period of use.
CONDITION
Very good untouched wartime condition overall. A solid original German WWII Luftwaffe M40 single decal helmet retaining its original factory finish, strong decal, original liner, and chinstrap with honest combat-era wear and excellent display appeal.
