Original German WWII M42 Single Decal Luftwaffe ET62
This authentic M42 Heer single decal helmet is a fine example of a wartime-issued piece, retaining its original liner and showing honest signs of use and age.
EXTERIOR Shell: The helmet retains a strong portion of its original Luftwaffe textured bluegray finish. The paint shows typical service wear including scattered scuffs, light scratches, and areas of thinning consistent with combat use and long-term storage. The surface maintains a pleasing matte appearance with natural patina and minor oxidation along the high points and rim. Decal: The Luftwaffe eagle decal remains visible and well-defined, showing honest wear and light fading from service. While there is minor flaking and abrasion, the eagle retains strong display presence and remains clearly identifiable. Please note the decal has been censored.
Split Pins: All 3 split pins are present and appear to retain most of the original finish with some minor chipping and surface rust on various ones. INTERIOR Shell: The interior retains much of its original factory-applied finish, with wear consistent with age and period use. Liner: The helmet retains its original liner system. The leather liner remains intact, showing typical age toning, areas of darkening from use, and honest service wear. The finger tabs are complete and supple, but a little stiff with no major tears observed. The liner is clearly stamped size 55. As with any aged leather we always recommend handling with care.
Chinstrap: Unfortunately the chinstrap is broken and only the ends are intact with the aluminum studs. The bales are present and intact.
CONDITION Overall, this helmet remains in very good, solid condition with strong eye appeal. The combination of original textured paint, intact liner, and single Luftwaffe decal makes this a desirable example.
