Original German WWII M42 Single Decal Luftwaffe ET62
Offered here is a Original German WWII M42 Single Decal Luftwaffe Helmet, manufactured by Eisenhüttenwerke, Thale (ET) in size 62.
EXTERIOR
The helmet retains a good amount of its original rough textured bluegray Luftwaffe factory finish throughout the exterior, showing honest wartime wear and age. Split pins are missing majority of the factroy applied paint. Scattered oxidation and surface rust are present across the shell. The left side features a Luftwaffe eagle decal that remains mostly intact. The decal exhibits expected wear, nicely aged toned and little to no flaking and displays nicely against the dark factory finish. The M42 shell retains its original rolled edge design and original factory installed vent holes. Note: the decal has been censored.
INTERIOR
The interior retains its original steel liner band and leather liner. The leather exhibits age and dryness around the edges of the metal band. The original drawstring remains present. The original split pins are slightly loose. The chinstrap is missing. Interior shell surfaces display age marks and slight scattered surface oxidation. The lot/batch number and maker mark are lightly visible. See last 2 photos.
CONDITION
Overall this helmet is in very good to excellent condition.
