Original German WWII RAD Officer’s Aluminum Belt Buckle – Assmann 1937
This Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD) leader buckle is a prime example of craftsmanship by Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid. The front of the buckle features the organizational shovel emblem of the RAD set against a grainy background and surrounded by a wreath of wheat.
The buckle is constructed from aluminum with a white silver finish. Despite age and storage minor wear, the buckle maintains great detail throughout. The reverse side of the buckle is complete with the original keeper in place and is marked with the "A" logo for Assmann, dated “37,” and labeled “D.R.G.M.,” (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster – registered design protection). The back has a dark gray finish with some speckling.
Overall, this buckle is in mint to excellent condition.
