Original Pre-WWII DRK (Red Cross) Officer’s Aluminum Belt Buckle – “Ges. Gesch.” Marked
This example of a Red Cross (DRK - Deutsches Rotes Kreuz) Officer's belt buckle is constructed with multi-piece aluminum. It features a round central portion with a catch on the back and a belt attachment. The front of the buckle showcases a large pebbled field with an eagle displaying down-swept wings, clutching a "Red Cross" in its talons, and symbol on its breast. This central design is surrounded by an open-topped wreath of laurels. The buckle includes the original belt keeper with prongs, which is often missing or replaced in many examples.
This piece is in excellent condition, showing minimal wear with much of the factory finish still present. It retains all of its detailed design, making it a very attractive display piece. The reverse side is marked "GES. GESCH. / 1," indicating "Gesetzlich Geschützt" (By-law Protected), with "1" as the maker code. In mint to excellent condition.
