Offered is an original German WWII Carl Zeiss Jena 6x30 Dienstglas field binocular set complete with its original black Bakelite carrying case. Carl Zeiss Jena was one of Germany's premier optical manufacturers, producing high quality military optics used extensively by the Wehrmacht throughout WWII.
The binoculars are clearly marked Carl Zeiss Jena and retain their original 6x30 and H/6400 military markings, along with serial number 1914656. The optics remain clear and usable, showing only light age-related dust and minor imperfections consistent with long term storage and service use. The focusing adjustments and diopter settings operate smoothly. The word "Dienstglas" has been scratched out above the marking "6x30".
The exterior finish shows minor service wear with scattered paint loss, edge wear, and handling marks throughout. The original leather neck strap remains attached and displays expected age, wear, and patina. The leather lens cover is clearly stamped "1939" along with a possible faint manufacturer marking to the left of the date.
Included is the desirable original black Bakelite carrying case, marked "frn42", indicating wartime production in 1942 by Rudolf Fuess, of Berlin-Steglitz. The case remains structurally sound with functioning closure hardware and intact leather rear belt loops. Inside is the original leather compartment for spare lenses. The case exhibits minimal field wear, scuffs, and scratches but remains in very good condition overall.
