Original German WWII .7 Liter M31 Canteen Non-Matching Set
This is an original German WWII M31 canteen set featuring a .7 liter aluminum flask with felt cover and leather harness. The flask is marked ESB41 (produced in 1941 by Eduard Sommerfeld, Berlin) at the neck and the leather strap is matching. The aluminum cup is faintly marked CFL43 (produced in 1943 by Carl Feldhaus Aluminium-und Metallwerke, Lüdenscheid).
The aluminum flask is in very good condition with a clean surface and a well-fitting cap that still retains the gasket. The enamel painted steel cup is damaged on the inside with cracked and peeling paint. The outside of the cup shows quite a bit of aging and some surface rust throughout.
The felt cover remains in good condition overall showing light wear. The leather is in good condition, remaining supple with good stitching and is clearly dated.
Condition is very good overall. A solid and honest wartime example with non-matching components.
