Original German WWII 7x50 Dienstglas Binoculars by Carl Zeiss Jena "blc" With Case Dated 1944

These are original German WWII Dienstglas 7x50 binoculars manufactured by Carl Zeiss Jena, maker code "blc." They are complete with their original wartime black leather carrying case.

The binoculars retain the majority of their original textured black finish with scattered handling marks, finish loss, and honest age-related wear consistent with wartime use. One of the neck strap attachment loops has broken away from the body (see photos), but the binoculars remain structurally sound. The optics are very clear, and the internal range finder is present and functions as intended. They are marked with serial number 41242 along with the "+" symbol, indicating they were lubricated with a special low-temperature grease for cold-weather service.

The original leather carrying case remains solid and displays typical period wear. It is marked "1944" along with a Waffenamt stamp. The exterior leather shows scattered scuffs, crazing, finish loss, and age-related cracking. The front closure hardware is complete and functional, although it exhibits surface rust and the leather retaining tab shows heavy wear. The rear belt loop is intact but has significant surface wear to the leather. The interior remains clean and includes the original molded insert for securely holding the binoculars. A faint wartime maker marking is present on the top edge of the case, though it is no longer fully legible.

Overall, this is a very good original Carl Zeiss Jena 7x50 Dienstglas binocular set with its original matching case.
