Original German WWII Luftwaffe Aluminum Belt Buckle 2nd Model By Hermann Aurich Dated 39
Offered is an original German WWII Luftwaffe enlisted/NCO aluminum belt buckle, a textbook 2nd Model example manufactured by Hermann Aurich of Dresden, clearly marked with logo and dated “39” on the reverse.
Constructed of lightweight aluminum, the buckle features the classic Luftwaffe eagle in flight clutching a swastika, set against a finely pebbled field and encircled by a detailed oak-leaf wreath. The die work is crisp and well-defined, with strong detail remaining in the eagle, wreath, and background, indicative of quality early-war production.
The reverse retains its original prong bar and catch assembly, both firmly intact and showing correct wartime construction. The maker mark logo & 39 are clearly visible, confirming production by Hermann Aurich and dating the piece to 1939, placing it among the earlier aluminum Luftwaffe buckles before later wartime material changes.
Condition is used but very good to excellent overall, showing light, honest service wear. The aluminum surface displays typical age-related patina, minor handling marks, and light wear to the high points, but no significant damage, repairs, or alterations. The buckle remains structurally solid with an attractive, untouched appearance.
A clean, early-war Hermann Aurich example ideal for collectors seeking a quality Luftwaffe buckle with clear markings and strong display appeal.
