Original German WWII Black Wound Badge (Unmarked)
This is an original unmarked German WWII Black Wound Badge (Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz). The Black Wound Badge was instituted on 1 September 1939 and was awarded to military personnel who sustained one or two combat wounds or suffered injuries while serving under enemy action.
The steel badge retains the majority of its original black finish, with very minimal related wear visible on the raised details. All highpoints including the pebbled background remains sharp and defined. There is a tiny spot of oxidation on the reverse.
The reverse features the correct hardware all of which remain intact and fully functional. No maker code found.
Condition: Very good to excellent overall.
