Original German WWII Bronze Infantry Assault Badge Unmarked
Offered is an original German WWII Bronze Infantry Assault Badge (Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Bronze), awarded to motorized and support infantry units for participation in infantry assaults during the Second World War.
Original German WWII Infantry Assault Badge in Bronze, constructed from zinc and unmarked. The design features an oval oakleaf wreath surrounding a Heer style national eagle clutching a swastika, with a K98 rifle, fixed bayonet, and carrying sling positioned diagonally across the badge.
Approximately 25–30% of the original factory applied bronze finish remains, primarily within the recessed areas. The loss of finish appears consistent with the natural aging of zinc rather than extensive service wear. The badge retains excellent detail throughout the eagle, wreath, rifle, bayonet, and sling.
The reverse retains its original vertical pin, barrel hinge, and catch, all of which remain complete and functional. Overall, this is a solid and well-preserved example in very good to excellent condition. The k98 rifle is semi-hollow.
