Original German WWII Civilian Rubberized Gasmask With Filter
An original German WWII civilian pattern rubberized gasmask complete with its original screw-on filter canister. Constructed of black rubberized material, this example features large rounded eyepieces with aluminum retaining rings and lightly aged amber-tinted lenses. The mask retains its original elasticized head straps and metal adjustment buckle assembly. A faint red ink waffenampt is stamped on the side.
The side of the mask is faintly marked “RL1-39/136,” while the filter canister is stamped “RL1 38/4” along with additional period inspection and production markings. The threaded filter connection remains intact and properly mates to the mask. The interior retains its original speaking diaphragm assembly and internal fittings.
The filter canister exhibits the typical ribbed/starburst pattern seen on wartime civilian and Luftschutz-related examples. It is slightly dented and could be removed or left alone. Overall, the rubber body remains supple with only light age-related wear and minor surface scuffing present. The amber-tinted lenses remain clear and display well. The rubber head straps remain intact and functional.
A very attractive and well-preserved example of a German WWII civilian gasmask set, ideal for display, Luftschutz collections, or WWII home front related collections.
The gasmask is in very good to excellent condition with age and long-term storage.
