Unissued Original German WWII Smooth Cotton Gas Cape Bag (Gasplane Tasche) Marked
This authentic Gas Cape Bag was designed to carry a "Gas Cape" (Gasplane)—a protective fabric used by soldiers to shield themselves from chemical gas attacks during combat.
We believe this bag is Unissued. Constructed of smooth cotton material, the bag retains its characteristic soft feel. The exterior shows no period wear, including little to no surface soiling and creasing typical of use and long term storage. The flap is secured by 2 buttons, both present and firmly attached. The reverse side features 2 attached fabric loops. The underside of the flap is marked and there is some rust on the snaps and rust stains, too, on the fabric.
