Original German WWII D.F. 10x80 Flakfernrohr Optics “cxn” by Emil Busch, Rathenow
A desirable and authentic example of the German WWII D.F. 10x80 Flakfernrohr, manufactured by Emil Busch, Rathenow, and clearly marked with the wartime code “cxn.” These large-format binoculars were primarily utilized in anti-aircraft (Flak) roles, offering powerful 10x magnification with 80mm objectives for enhanced light gathering and long-range observation.
This set retains its original mid-to-late war ordnance tan factory finish, showing honest service wear, scattered handling marks, and areas of oxidation consistent with age and field use. The overall appearance remains very pleasing and completely untouched. The mounting rails are intact, though the original sunshades and rubber forehead rest pad are no longer present, as is commonly encountered.
The optics remain in very good condition for a piece of this size and age. The internal crosshair aiming reticle is present and clearly visible, though there are some minor specks and typical internal debris. The objective lenses show expected age-related haze and spotting, visible under inspection but not detracting from display or general functionality. The adjustment knob for the internal filters/shades operates as intended. The eyepiece focus adjustments are functional but somewhat stiff turning and would likely benefit from light servicing or lubrication.
All markings remain clear, including the D.F. 10x80 designation and serial numbering, further supporting originality. Overall, this is a solid and highly collectible example of German Flak optics, offering strong display appeal with honest, unaltered condition. In very good to excellent condition.
