Original German WWII Short Model Dress Bayonet Unmarked
Hilt:
The plated hilt features a bird’s head pommel and curved crossguard. Much of the bright finish remains, with scattered plating loss, surface oxidation, and handling marks. Wear is most noticeable around the pommel, release button, and edges of the grip frame.
Grip:
The black checkered grip plates retain well-defined detail and both securing rivets. The rear grip plate lifts slightly away from the metal frame, leaving a visible gap along its lower edge due to poor storage. The grips show minor surface wear from age and handling.
Blade:
The unmarked, fullered blade retains a bright, reflective finish with scattered scratches, light spotting, and some surface wear near the tip. The blade tip remains intact. A green felt buffer is present beneath the crossguard.
Scabbard:
The steel scabbard retains a substantial amount of black paint, with scattered chipping and finish loss on both sides exposing areas of aged metal and surface oxidation. Wear is particularly noticeable along the edges and near the tip. The frog stud and rounded ball tip remain present, and the scabbard appears straight with no dents.
