Original German WWII Heer Officers Dagger By Ernst Pack & Sohn *U.S. Veteran Bringback*
Hilt: The plated crossguard features the Heer eagle with outstretched wings clutching a swastika within a wreath. The pommel and ferrule retain well-defined oakleaf decoration. The fittings show age toning, scattered finish wear, and light handling marks, while retaining much of their plated finish.
Grip: The spiral-grooved orange grip has darkened over time to a deep reddish-brown tone, with brighter orange coloring visible on the reverse. It retains a glossy surface and remains well preserved, with minor handling wear and no apparent major cracks or chips.
Blade: The blade bears the clearly visible Ernst Pack & Söhne, Solingen maker’s trademark, incorporating the “Siegfried Waffen” name and hammer-wielding figure. It retains areas of brightness and comes to a well-defined, intact point. Gray spotting is present throughout, along with light surface scratches and scattered areas of minor pitting.
Scabbard: The steel scabbard retains its pebbled panels and oakleaf decorated lower section, along with both zinc suspension bands and carrying rings. It shows age toning, minor surface rust, and scattered finish wear. A small ding is present near the tip, but the scabbard otherwise remains straight and in good overall condition.
Provenance: This dagger is a U.S. veteran bringback, acquired directly from the veteran’s family. Included with the purchase is a copy of the veteran’s signed and dated Bringback Certificate (not pictured), providing additional provenance and historical interest to this dagger
