Original German WWII Heer General's Visor Cap Wreath & Cockade Set

This General’s visor cap insignia set was worn on the front of German Army officer visor caps to denote high rank. Unlike the standard silver officer insignia, Generals utilized gold bullion or gilt-finished metal insignia, featuring an ornate oakleaf wreath surrounding a central tri-color cockade.

The gilt finish remains very well preserved, showing only minimal age toning and light discoloration from storage and handling. All attachment prongs remain fully intact.

The cockade retains its original red felt center, which remains nicely preserved along with both attachment prongs. The front shows some honest age and light wear consistent with period use. The reverse is marked “D.R.G.M.” (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster – German registered design/patent protection) along with the registration number “1429574,” indicating the design was registered in 1938.

Overall, this original General’s visor cap wreath and cockade set remains in excellent condition and displays very nicely.
