Unissued Original German WWII Heer/Waffen SS M31 Breadbag Mid War Dated 1943 (Two-Tone Construction)

Offered here is an unissued original German WWII M31 Breadbag (Brotbeutel), as utilized by both Heer (Army) and Waffen SS personnel. This excellent example is dated 1943 and features the desirable two-tone canvas construction commonly encountered on mid-war manufactured field equipment, reflecting wartime variations in materials and production.

The breadbag is constructed of heavy olive-green cotton canvas, displaying contrasting shades between the main body and the flap. It retains all three original upper belt attachment straps, complete with their metal buttons and fitting, including the two side D-rings used for attaching additional field equipment such as the canteen and mess kit. The center belt attachment strap retains its original metal hook, which is faintly manufacturer marked and dated 1943.

The breadbag retains its original black leather reinforcements and attachment tabs, along with the correct metal buttons and fastening straps. The interior is exceptionally clean, showing the contrasting canvas shades, original stitching, and complete leather closure straps. The construction, hardware, and stitching are all consistent with wartime German manufacture.
