Unissued Original German WWII EM/NCO’s “Infanterie-Regiment List” Cufftitle
The cufftitle was authorized on November 12, 1943, for Grenadier-Regiment 199 of the 57th Infantry Division. It commemorated the Royal Bavarian Reserve Infantry Regiment 16, known as “Regiment List” after its first commander, Julius von List. Adolf Hitler served with that WWI regiment as a dispatch runner, giving the later tradition title a direct connection to his military service and its use in NSDAP propaganda.
Original full-length EM/NCO’s cufftitle, featuring “Infanterie-Regiment List” machine embroidered in white thread on dark green wool, with white borders along the upper and lower edges. Both ends retain their stitched finishing. The reverse shows the embroidery and border stitching.
This example is unissued, with some age-related yellowing and scattered brown staining on the white borders. The wool retains its dark blue green color, and the lettering remains complete and clearly defined. Minor loose threads are present at the ends. In excellent overall condition.
