Original German WWII Kriegsmarine Dagger (Unmarked)
This authentic WWII Kriegsmarine dagger is crafted by an unidentified manufacturer. The blade is not etched. It comes to a fine point, showcasing precise craftsmanship and a snug fit within the hilt. The original red felt buffer pad is intact, a testament to the dagger's well-preserved condition.
The scabbard, designed in a lightning bolt style, is constructed from brass, offering durability and adorned with a pleasing patina. The scabbard remains free from dents, preserving its original form. Both scabbard throat retaining screws are present. The button closure functions nicely.
The cross guard and pommel are also brass-based, and has detailed fouled anchors on the cross guard and a proudly perched Kriegsmarine eagle on the pommel. There is a slight bluish patina that has formed--typical of uncleaned brass.
The grip features a wooden base covered in white celluloid, displaying some age-related discoloration on one side but maintaining an overall excellent condition, free from cracks. The brass double twisted wire wrap is securely in place.
In conclusion, this Kriegsmarine officer's dagger is in excellent condition.
