Original German WWII Pre-War .7 Liter M31 Canteen (No Cup) CFL 36
This is an original pre-war German WWII .7 liter canteen, produced in 1936, representing early quality manufacture prior to wartime material simplification. The set is complete minus the cup.
The canteen retains its original black leather strap assembly, which remains supple and in very good condition. There is some minor age-related cracking and wear, but the leather is still strong and fully functional. The strap is faintly marked “CFL 36,” matching the rest of the canteen components.
The felt cover is in excellent condition, showing only light handling wear. It is clearly marked “CFL 36,” and all snaps are present and fully functional, securing the cover properly to the body.
The aluminum flask is also marked “CFL 36” and shows honest use, with surface wear and light marks consistent with age. The screw cap is intact, marked “CFL 36” and retains its original rubber gasket.
Overall, this is a solid pre-war example with matching maker and date throughout. Despite the missing cup, it remains a very desirable early canteen set in very good overall condition.
