Unissued Original German Late War Artillery Rucksack
This is an original late-war German artillery rucksack, constructed of olive drab canvas with natural brown leather fittings, indicative of late-war production when materials and dye processes were simplified for cost efficiency.
The rucksack features the typical streamlined late-war construction, with a single flap closure and long leather securing strap. The interior retains its original drawstring closure with metal grommets, along with the internal pocket and button tab, all intact and in excellent condition.
The leather components throughout are the correct undyed brown leather, showing minimal wear and a light natural finish consistent with unissued storage. All stitching remains tight and secure, and the hardware is complete and functions as intended.
The reverse retains the proper attachment points for combat Y-straps, two side straps to attach a blanket or zeltbahn making it fully functional for field gear configuration. All fittings are intact, with only very minor storage wear visible.
Interestingly, this example is unmarked, which is not uncommon for late-war production pieces.
Overall, this is an outstanding unissued example, presenting in near mint to excellent condition, with crisp canvas, strong leather, and full functionality. A very desirable late-war rucksack that would be difficult to upgrade.
