This is an original German WWII Luftschutz “Gladiator” helmet, retaining a pleasing amount of its original dark blue factory finish.
The front displays the standard Luftschutz winged decal with the motto “Luftschutz tut Not.” The decal remains clearly visible with expected age, wear, and some surface loss. The exterior finish shows scattered scratches, scuffs, oxidation, and honest service wear, while the helmet still displays very well overall.
The interior retains its original leather liner, although the leather is heavily worn, torn, and damaged in several areas. Portions of the liner pads and their original cloth backing remain present. The original chinstrap is complete and still attached, though it exhibits cracking, finish loss, and considerable age-related wear.

Overall, this is an honest, untouched example of an original German WWII Luftschutz Gladiator helmet. Despite the damaged liner and worn chinstrap, it retains a strong exterior appearance, a clearly visible Luftschutz decal, its original interior markings, and excellent period character.
