Original German Pre-WWII Luftwaffe EM/NCO Steel Belt Buckle & Leather Tab by Dransfeld & Co. 1941
This is an original German WWII Luftwaffe enlisted/NCO steel belt buckle complete with its original leather tab, manufactured by Dransfeld & Co. The leather tab is clearly maker marked and dated 1941.
The buckle is of stamped steel construction and retains traces of its original finish, now showing considerable oxidation, age toning, and rust patina from wartime service and storage. The obverse features the standard Luftwaffe design consisting of a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swas., set within an oakleaf wreath against a pebbled background. Despite the wear, the details of the eagle and wreath remain clearly visible.
The reverse retains 50% of its original Luftwaffe blue factory applied paint, catch, prongs, and roller bar, all of which remain intact. The attached leather tab is maker marked and dated, though the stamp is somewhat faint from age and use. The leather remains supple overall, displaying honest service wear, age-related creasing, and some minor cracking, particularly around the stitched areas. The stitching remains largely intact and secure.
