Original German WWII Luftwaffe Tropical Fallschirmjäger Trousers-
This is an original pair of German WWII Luftwaffe Tropical Fallschirmjäger (Paratrooper) Trousers, manufactured in light tan cotton twill for North African and Mediterranean service. These trousers were specially designed for paratroopers, featuring the distinctive high-waisted cut with integral suspenders, left leg map pocket, and adjustable leg ties secured by metal buckles.
The interior waistband is clearly marked with the “Wirtschaftsamt Litzmannstadt” depot black ink stamp, along with size markings (80, 86, 114, 100). The trousers retain most their tan buttons, but some are missing or broken and most of the metal hardware, including both ankle adjustment buckles, remains present, though showing surface rust from age. The waist belt has been modified, which has lost its slider buckle and has been period modified with a hand sewn button hole on the waist strap and a hollow backed button to replace it.
These Luftwaffe jump trousers exhibit service wear throughout with some small holes and stains from field use and age. The light tan tropical fabric has taken on a pleasing, even field patina, consistent with genuine service wear in North Africa or southern Italian front wear.
Condition: Good to very good condition despite being service used with stains, rust, and small holes and rips from age and use.
