Original German WWII Luftwaffe M40 EM/NCO Overseas Cap LBA Marked, Size 56/57An original service used German WWII Luftwaffe M40 EM/NCO Overseas Cap (Feldmütze) constructed in bluish gray wool. It is approximately a size 56/57.
The front features standard machine embroidered
Luftwaffe eagle and national cockade insignia, both exhibiting age toning and wear. The insignia are individually handstitched to the front of the cap. There is little to no flaws in the wool material.
Interior construction features an original cotton lining, which remains intact. It shows minor discoloration from use. There is a very faint LBA (Luftwaffen-Bekleidungsamt / Luftwaffe Clothing Office) Number stamped on the interior lining (see last photo). The original size markings are no longer clearly legible; however, the cap measures approximately a
size 56/57.
