This original service used Luftwaffe M43 cap is constructed from Luftwaffe bluish-gray wool.
The front features a Post War reapplied original machine embroidered Luftwaffe eagle and national cockade that is hand stitched. The insignia display noticeable age toning and wear consistent with the remainder of the cap. The front fold-down ear and neck flap is secured by two pebbled metal buttons, which retain the majority of their original finish. The wool fabric is solid. There are a few tiny holes (photo 3) and minor discoloration/stains from use and age.
The interior retains its original satin lining, which shows discoloration from use, but remains fully intact. The lining is clearly ink stamped with an RB number, 1944, and size 57, providing excellent period identification.
Despite some signs of wear, this cap is in very good overall condition, making it a solid addition to any Luftwaffe collection.
