This is an authentic wartime-produced M39 breadbag designed for use by Heer and Waffen SS Helferinnen (Female Auxiliary) personnel. It was manufactured in green cotton fabric with blackened leather reinforcement tabs and steel hardware. It features the softer and more compact design used for female auxiliaries and support personnel rather than the standard combat troop version. The material has the distinctive coarser weave typical of mid-war to late-war production.
The interior flap retains its ink maker marking and a clearly stamped RBNr. (Reichsbetriebsnummer) code on the breadbag strap, identifying the wartime production facility. The visible code “R.B.Nr. 0/0240/0103” corresponds to a German textile manufacturer operating under the Reich procurement system during WWII.
