Original German WWII Heer M42 EM/NCO Overseas Cap Size 57
This is an original German WWII M42 Heer (Army) Overseas Cap (Feldmütze), constructed of fieldgrey wool. The cap is a textbook featuring a BeVo hand stitched applied Gebirgsjäger (Light Infantry Mountain Troops) eagle with cockade.
The exterior fieldgrey wool is in solid condition. The nap remains visible throughout, showing typical age and minimal use without major damage. The two side ventilation grommets are intact, and the front fold is secured with its original pebbled grained fieldgrey painted buttons, which are missing majority of original paint. The insignia has toned over time.
The interior is fully lined in cotton/rayon blend material. There are no size or maker markings. Aside from some discoloration, the interior is well-preserved.
Overall, this is a solid and honest M42 Overseas Cap in size 57 approximately. A nice example suitable for use, display or collection. Refer to photos for more details and actual condition.
