Unissued Original German WWII Heer/Waffen SS M44 Late-War Breadbag RB Numbered MINT!
Offered here is an unissued original German WWII M44 late-war Breadbag (Brotbeutel), as utilized by Heer (Army) and Waffen SS troops. This outstanding example features the simplified construction characteristic of late-war German field equipment production and remains in mint, unissued condition. The breadbag is also RB numbered, with the manufacturer's identification clearly ink-stamped on the reverse near the upper edge.
The breadbag is constructed of heavy olive-green cotton canvas, retaining its original color and texture throughout. It features the typical M44 configuration with three upper belt attachment loops, two steel D-rings for securing additional field equipment, and brown leather reinforcements with contrasting white stitching. The front flap retains its original brown leather attachment tabs, all neatly sewn in place. The overall construction reflects the wartime effort to simplify manufacturing while maintaining the functionality of standard German field equipment.
The interior is exceptionally clean and retains its original black leather closure straps and metal buttons. Also present is the smaller internal pocket for the k98 cleaning kit, complete with its original leather fastening strap and metal button. All leather components remain in excellent condition, with no apparent damage or deterioration. The stitching throughout is tight and complete, including the reinforced attachment points and leather fittings.
The reverse of the breadbag retains a clearly visible Reichsbetriebsnummer (RB-Nr.) ink stamp along the upper edge. These identification numbers were introduced during the war as part of the German system for identifying manufacturers and production facilities, replacing many traditional company names and markings on military equipment. This marking is a desirable feature of late-war German manufacture.
An outstanding, unissued example of a late-war German M44 breadbag, featuring desirable RB-numbered markings, simplified wartime construction, and exceptional overall preservation. An excellent addition to any WWII German field equipment collection or for completing a late-war Heer or Waffen SS combat mannequin display.
